Homesick for a place I've never lived before

Come February time, when the snow starts falling and the temps drop, I start missing New York. The past two or three years, I've been to New York over President's Day weekend. There's the story of the infamous blizzard of '03, the Gates of '05. There's something about wandering around NYC in the snow, planning what to wear so you're not soaked by the end of the day.

I Loved New York when I was there. I was only there for 3 months but is was over the holiday season. There really is nothing like New York around the Holidays: Macey's Thanksgiving Parade, Broadway, Central Park, Hot Dog and Nut vendors on the street, carriage rides. People walking down the street pronouncing to all they see: Happy Holidays! Merry Christmas! Shalom!

Ahhhhhhh! Love. IT.

I made a Greyhound bus trek to NYC President's Day of '05, too. I was so glad I got to see the Gates, especially when we talked about them in a design class I took, and I got to defend them, since I was the only person besides the prof. to have see them in person.

Such a cool experience!
